Short bio:

Eli Leskley

A Jewish artist, born in 1911, in Czehia. He was imprisoned in Terezin, but survived captivity. In order to not jeopardize his and his wife’s life he would cut his comic strips into pieces and hide them, so that the Nazis could not find them. After the war, he brought them to Israel with him. During the first decade following the war, he put the pieces back together and re-painted the pictures using better quality materials.
