Short bio:

David Olére

(1902-1985) A Polish Jew and a multilingual artist (he spoke seven languages). He was imprisoned in Dancy, but was later transferred and worked as Kapo in Aschwitz. He was assigned writing letters in calligraphy to the families of the German guards. At the same time, he worked in gas chambers and crematoriums. After his release he drew scenes from the violent everyday life in camps. His works served as evidence for the existence of gas chambers in a trial held in London in 2000 (Irving-Lipstadt trial).
